In-form duo Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin del Potro have set their sights on a successful end to the season at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. Both men have confirmed their qualification for the prestigious end-of-year finale, which takes place at The O2 in London from 22-29 November.

Djokovic will be making his third straight appearance at the Finals. Last year, in Shanghai, he captured the title by defeating Russian Nikolay Davydenko. Del Potro, meanwhile, has guaranteed his place after claiming a first career grand slam title at the US Open. Both men are keen to make an impression in London.

Djokovic said: “It’s only eight players and I think all the tennis world and tennis attention is directed to this event. The role of defending champion has quite a lot of expectation. Yet again, it’s a big challenge and hopefully I can repeat the success from last year.”

Still revelling in his win at Flushing Meadows, Argentinian Del Potro added: "I beat Nadal, Federer and many good players here so maybe I can do that one more time."

The pair have joined Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in securing their place at the event, where the top eight singles players and the top eight doubles teams on the ATP World Tour will battle it out for the title.

Del Potro - who celebrated his 21st birthday Wednesday - ended the five-year unbeaten reign of Federer at the US Open with a thrilling 3-6, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 triumph. In doing so he ensured his place at The O2 courtesy of the 2000 ranking points for victory.

In doubles action, Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes are hoping that teamwork can once again lead them to glory when they compete in the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

The duo are currently celebrating their second grand slam victory together after storming to the US Open title.Czech Dlouhy and India’s Paes beat the number-three seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to claim the title. Now they are targeting more success.

“Our maturity as a team has grown a lot this year compared to last,” said Paes. “It probably has come because we won a grand slam at the French Open and because we've accepted each other's strengths and weaknesses. We are just about a year and three months old now as a team. I think that the longevity of our partnership means that we just keep getting better, which is a wonderful thing.”

Despite that defeat, there is some consolation for Bhupathi and Knowles as their run in the US has also guaranteed them a Barclays ATP World Tour Finals place. As well as Dlouhy and Paes, they join Mike and Bob Bryan along with defending champions Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic as the four confirmed doubles qualifiers so far.
