Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes are the fifth team to qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals after reaching the semi-finals of the Shanghai Rolex Masters on Friday. The fourth seeds defeated Thomaz Bellucci and Ivan Dodig 6-3, 6-4 in the quarter-finals of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament.

Bhupathi and Paes will join Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan, Michael Llodra and Nenad Zimonjic, Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor and Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner at the season finale to be held at The O2 in London from 20-27 November. Three spots remain to be claimed.

The 'Indian Express' will make their sixth team appearance at the year-end championships and their first since 2002 after reforming their full-time partnership this season. They reached the final on their debut in 1997, finishing runners-up to Rick Leach and Jonathan Stark, and contested the title match again in 1999 (l. to Lareau-O’Brien) and 2000 (l. to Johnson-Norval).

They also reached the finals at the Australian Open (l. to Bryans) and the AEGON Championships in London (l. to Bryans).

Bhupathi and Paes will resume their Shanghai campaign on Saturday against second seeds Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor.
