Del Potro Denied - Juan Martin del Potro was bidding for his third ATP World Tour title of the season after victories in Delray Beach and Estoril. The Argentine dropped to a 9-5 mark in tour-level finals.

Muster Bows Out - Former World No. 1 Thomas Muster played his final ATP World Tour tournament at the age of 44. The Austrian was beaten in the first round by 18-year-old countryman Dominic Thiem.

Melzer Misses Out - Home favourite Jurgen Melzer was denied a hat-trick of titles at the Erste Bank Open. The left-hander, who triumphed in 2009-2010, was beaten in the quarter-finals by Kevin Anderson.

Tsonga Tops del Potro
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga's prospects of qualifying for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals were boosted after the Frenchman notched his first victory against Juan Martin del Potro, defeating the Argentine 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4 to win the Erste Bank Open in Vienna. Tsonga claimed his second title in 2011 after beginning the fall indoor season by lifting the trophy in Metz (d. Ljubicic).
