Croatian Excellence At PBZ Zagreb Indoors
The PBZ Zagreb Indoors is the first European stop on the ATP World Tour calendar. Croatians have enjoyed success in their capital city, beginning with Ivan Ljubicic's triumph at the inaugural event in 2006. He went on to runner-up efforts the following two years. Marin Cilic maintained Croatia's final streak as he won back-to-back titles in 2009-10, while Ivan Dodig lifted his first title in 2011.

Berrer Upsets Ljubicic - Top seed and 2006 Zagreb champion Ivan Ljubicic was upset in the second round of the 2012 edition, losing to German Michael Berrer. Berrer went on to reach the semi-finals (l. to Youzhny).

Lacko Springs Surprise - Two weeks after reaching the Australian Open third round as a qualifier, Lukas Lacko ousted No. 2 seed Alex Bogomolov Jr., No. 7 Robin Haase and No. 6 Marcos Baghdatis to reach his first final.

Defending Champ Beaten - Croatian Ivan Dodig was denied a successful title defence at the PBZ Zagreb Indoors as he fell to Marcos Baghdatis in the quarter-finals. Baghdatis, in turn, lost to Lacko in the semis.

Third seed Mikhail Youzhny captured his eighth ATP World Tour title as he dismissed first-time finalist Lukas Lacko 6-2, 6-3 in the PBZ Zagreb Indoors final.
