Andy Murray became the seventh player to win multiple Sony Open Tennis titles after he saved one match point to beat David Ferrer 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(1) in the final. Murray, who also won the 2009 Miami title, overtook Roger Federer at No. 2 in the Emirates ATP Rankings after he captured his ninth ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title (9-3).
