Roger Federer is the third player to qualify for the season-ending championship for at least nine straight years, joining Ivan Lendl (12) and Pete Sampras (11). Overall, he is tied for No. 6 with the most years qualified for the year-end finale:

SUCCESS IN YEAR-END CHAMPIONSHIP DEBUT

Over the past 20 years, only five players have reached the final in their year-end championship debut. Of those, only one – Alex Corretja – captured the title.
