Spaniard Nicolas Almagro can be seen on 400,000 Pepsi cans across Mexico ahead of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel, an ATP World Tour 500 tennis tournament beginning February 23rd. The Pepsi cans showcase the ATP World Tour's FEEL IT campaign, placing the defending champion alongside a raging bull with the words 'Feel the Force'.
“I think it’s great that Pepsi and the Abierto Mexicano Telcel are doing a joint promotion for the tournament," said Almagro, who finished as the tour's clay match wins leader last season. "As the returning champion I am very happy to have been chosen as the image for the campaign and especially with the use of the ATP World Tour’s FEEL IT campaign. I even look quite handsome, like Beckham! (laughing).
"It’s always a pleasure to return to Mexico and this tournament is very dear to me. The Mexican fans have been supportive and I’m excited to return and defend my title."
The Abierto Mexicano Telcel is the climax of the four-tournament Latin American clay court swing, which includes stops at Vina del Mar, Costa do Sauipe and Buenos Aires. This is the second year that Pepsi has participated as sponsor of the tournament, although Epura and Gatorade - part of Pepsico - have been sponsors for many years.
