The second day at the Valencia Open 500 features six matches on Stadium, including five seeded players. World No. 4 and top seed Andy Murray makes his first tournament appearance since a fourth round exit at the US Open on Sept. 8 when he takes on Valencia native and wild card Daniel Gimeno-Traver. In the first match of the day, No. 5 seed Gilles Simon of France, who reached the Valencia final three years ago, plays Russian Igor Kunitsyn. Another Frenchman, No. 6 seed Gael Monfils meets wild card Marcel Granollers. In the third match, Spaniards Nicolas Almagro and No. 8 seed David Ferrer battle it out in a repeat of last year's final. Almagro won the title in 2006-07 and Ferrer is the defending champion. Former World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero takes on Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas for the first time. In the final two matches, Murray, a five-time winner on the ATP World Tour this season, faces Gimeno-Traver, and Belgian qualifier Christophe Rochus, a finalist in 2003, plays No. 7 seed Tommy Robredo.
