Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, along with Sony Ericsson WTA Tour players Kim Clijsters and Jelena Dokic, have donated their racquets to Tennis Australia’s charity auction for Haiti.

Proceeds from the online auction – which will close following the men’s final on Sunday, 31 January – will be sent to Partners in Health, an aid organisation providing medical relief to earthquake victims throughout the country.

The top men’s and women’s tennis players have been proactive in leading charity efforts for Haiti, raising more than A$200,000 (US$184,700) during an impromptu charity exhibition at Melbourne Park on the eve of the Australian Open. Proceeds raised from ‘Hit for Haiti’, along with significant donations made from the ATP World Tour, Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, ITF, Grand Slam Committee and Tennis Australia, will exceed half a million dollars.
