Nadal-Lopez Continue Doubles Charge

ATP World Tour 2010 - Week 11

Rafael Nadal continued to progress in both singles and doubles draws as he and fellow Spaniard Marc Lopez advanced to the quarter-finals of the BNP Paribas Open Tuesday with a 6-4, 7-6(4) victory over countrymen Feliciano Lopez and Fernando Verdasco, at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tennis tournament in Indian Wells.

Towering American duo John Isner and Sam Querrey combined one day after playing each other in the singles third round to defeat Igor Andreev of Russia and Kazakhstan’s Evgeny Korolev 7-5, 6-7(5), 10-4.

Elsewhere, Johan Brunstrom and Jean-Julien Rojer secured their place in the quarter-finals with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 victory over Tomas Berdych and Philipp Kohlschreiber, while fifth seeds Frantisek Cermak and Michal Mertinak received a walkover through the second round when their opponents, Thomaz Bellucci and Pablo Cuevas, withdrew due to Bellucci suffering from a back injury.
