Two-time champions and No. 2 seeds Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan made their way into the quarter-finals at the Sony Ericsson Open with a 6-4, 6-4 win over fellow Americans Eric Butorac and Rajeev Ram on Tuesday afternoon in Miami.

The 31-year-old twins boast an impressive 34-9 tournament record, and will be looking to reach the semi-finals for a fifth straight year at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament when they face No. 8 seeds Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski. The Poles prevailed against Russians Igor Andreev and Mikhail Youzhny 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.

The Bryans claimed back-to-back Miami titles in 2007 and ’08, and were also runners-up in 2006 (l. to Bjorkman/Mirnyi). They have won two titles this season at the Australian Open and Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.

Fourth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi also eased through their second-round match Tuesday, defeating Americans John Isner and Sam Querrey 6-3, 6-2 in 54 minutes. They capitalised on three of their nine break points while saving all four threats faced on serve.

Mirnyi won the Miami title last year playing alongside Andy Ram, while Bhupathi reached the final in 2008 with Mark Knowles.

Also on Tuesday, unseeded Germans Benjamin Becker and Michael Kohlmann set up a quarter-final meeting with No. 3 seeds Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes after edging Martin Damm and Filip Polasek 7-6(3), 7-6(5).
