Three-Year Extension Keeps SAP as Title Sponsor through 2013 Tournament

SAN JOSE, CA – Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment (SVS&E) announced today that the SAP Open, Northern California's premier men’s professional tennis tournament, has reached agreement with title sponsor SAP to extend its partnership for three additional years making SAP the tournament’s title sponsor through the 2013 tournament.  In keeping with tournament policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are pleased that SAP has opted to extend its title sponsorship of the SAP Open through the 2013 tournament,” said Greg Jamison, President and CEO of Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of the SAP Open.  “Over the past six years, our tournament staff has developed an excellent working relationship with SAP.   We appreciate SAP’s continued support of the tournament and look forward to maintaining this partnership in the future.”

SAP began its title sponsorship of the SAP Open in 2005.  Since that time, SAP has consistently invested the resources necessary to enhance an already premier ATP World Tour tournament.  These enhancements include a commitment to secure an impressive field of world-class players each year, facility improvement to the host venue including tournament-themed décor throughout HP Pavilion at San Jose during tournament week.  In addition, SAP is committed to community outreach through financial support and ticket donations to official charity East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring (EPATT), as well as other charitable organizations.

"SAP is proud to continue our title sponsorship of this prestigious event that brings together some of the top athletes from the ATP World Tour,” said Robert Enslin, President, SAP North America. “This showcase of sporting excellence and the event’s commitment in partnering with the San Jose community aligns to the qualities that we value most at SAP. Together with our several thousand employees based in the Silicon Valley, we are delighted to continue our partnership with the SAP Open,  the second-oldest men’s professional tennis tournament in the United States.”

Adam S. Helfant, ATP Executive Chairman and President said, “We congratulate the SAP Open on another great event this year.  Men’s professional tennis is enjoying one of the most exciting periods in its history and committed partners like SAP are critical to the success of the ATP World Tour.”

“With SAP’s continued loyal support of this ATP World Tour event, the SAP Open will maintain its reputation as the Bay Area’s premier professional tennis tournament,” said SAP Open Tournament Director Bill Rapp.”
