Novak Djokovic and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga kicked-off the 2010 Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters on Sunday by visiting the Musée Océanographique in Monaco-Ville, Monaco.

The museum of marine sciences, which took 11 years to build, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. It was inaugurated by Prince Albert I in 1910.

The two players were given a tour of the impressive collection, including "Anna", a rare 150 million-year-old aquatic reptile specimen nicknamed the “big eyes reptile”.

“There’s always a lot of things to do and see in Monaco,” said Monte-Carlo resident Djokovic, who finished runner-up to Rafael Nadal in last year’s tournament. “I had been to the museum before but to the aquariums so it’s nice to come back and see something different.”

Tsonga, who is looking to become France’s first titlist at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament, said: “It’s always really nice to have the chance to visit fascinating places like this.

“I find it really interesting to be able to see things from the past like we just did with ‘Anna’.”
