ATP Announces Ricoh Extension, New COMPEED Partnership
by Press Release
|14.04.2010
The ATP today announced an extended and enhanced partnership with technology leader Ricoh and a new partnership with COMPEED, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. Following February’s announcement of a five-and-a-half-year agreement with premier partner Corona Extra, ATP Executive Chairman and President Adam Helfant said that the partnerships were a great endorsement of the men’s professional game.
“We’re very fortunate to be celebrating the signing of two important partnerships for the ATP World Tour this week,” said Helfant. “Ricoh has been a valued sponsor for more than five years and has expanded its role to platinum partner in Europe. We appreciate Ricoh’s continued confidence and support of the Tour. We’re also happy to welcome Johnson & Johnson brand COMPEED, a new partner that will provide products to help our medical team care for our players. Our success in the sponsorship area this year says a lot about where we are as a Tour right now.”
The ATP and Ricoh announced today that they have extended their partnership through 2012, elevating Ricoh to Platinum Partner and Official Office Solutions Provider of the ATP World Tour in Europe. Ricoh, a partner of the ATP World Tour since 2005, provides state-of-the-art document solutions and services behind the scenes, to ensure tournament operations are efficient and productive.
As part of the new agreement, Ricoh will sponsor six additional European events in Spain, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland, increasing the total number of tournaments it sponsors to 12. Ricoh has also extended its existing sponsorship of events in Monte Carlo, Rome, Madrid, Hamburg, Paris and the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals through 2012.
Ricoh's on-court branding at the twelve tournaments includes the umpire chairs, speed-serve displays and TV graphics. Ricoh also will continue to sponsor the official Ricoh ATP MatchFacts statistics report, featured on ATPWorldTour.com and distributed to media after every ATP World Tour match. Read Full Story
The ATP also announced today a new partnership naming COMPEED® (Johnson & Johnson Consumer Services EMEA Ltd.) as an Official Supplier of the ATP World Tour, enhancing medical team kits and courtside preparedness throughout 2010 and 2011 with specific blister plasters and other footcare treatments.
One of the most common athletic injuries is a blister, which can have a significant impact on the performance of an athlete. As Official Supplier of the ATP World Tour, COMPEED® will be used by ATP medical staff to treat professional tennis players at all 62 of its tournaments around the world – getting players back in the game to perform to the highest level.
To celebrate the partnership and ensure that players can be unstoppable in their performance, COMPEED® is launching Blister Underfoot, the first blister product specifically designed to fit the ball of the foot with an extra thick cushioning zone that protects underfoot blisters from further rubbing. Blisters under the foot have a higher tendency to occur in sports where there is a lot of lateral movement, hence a greater need for tennis players. Read Full Story
