Introduced to the crowd as "the now well-rested John Isner", the 6' 9" North Carolina native received a warm ovation from the New York crowd as he pitched to Yankees catch Francisco Cervelli.

The New York Yankees ended up losing to the Seattle Mariners, 7-3, in just under two-and-a-half hours - eight hours and 30 minutes less than the time Isner took to defeat Frenchman Nicolas Mahut in their first round Wimbledon marathon last week.
