Eight different nations are represented in the quarter-finals at The Championships for the second successive year.

If the top four seeds all advance into the semi-finals on Wednesday, it will mark the first time since 2006 Roland Garros that this has happened, and the first time at Wimbledon since 1995.

ATPWorldTour.com previews the line-up in draw order.

[1] Roger Federer (SUI) vs [12] Tomas Berdych (CZE)
Roger Federer takes an 8-2 advantage into his quarter-final against Tomas Berdych, although the top seed did lose at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami in March.

Should Federer equal William Renshaw and Pete Sampras’ record of seven Wimbledon titles, the Swiss would not regain No. 1 in the South African Airways 2010 ATP Rankings. Federer, who dropped three sets in his opening two matches, will be looking to become the second man (after Patrick Rafter at the 1998 US Open) to win a major title having won his first round match from two-sets-to-love down. Contesting his 25th successive major quarter-final, only Jimmy Connors with 27 straight has played more than Federer.

Berdych, also a quarter-finalist in 2007 (l. to Nadal), reached his first Grand Slam semi-final at Roland Garros earlier this month (l. to Nadal). He has never lost a five-set match at Wimbledon (4-0 overall) and is attempting to become the first Czech man to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals since Ivan Lendl in 1990. The winner will play either…

[3] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs Yen-Hsun Lu (TPE)
World No. 3 Novak Djokovic will be bidding to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals for the second time when he faces No. 82-ranked Yen-Hsun Lu, who dedicated his five-set win over Andy Roddick on Monday to his father who passed away 10 years ago. The pair has never met before.

Lu, the first Asian man to reach a Grand Slam championship quarter-final since Shuzo Matsuoka at Wimbledon in 1995, has been coached by doubles great Mark Woodforde since last year. On his next test, the 26-year-old said: "I can tell you if I have a chance to step on the court, I will fight to the end."

Djokovic, competing in his fifth straight major quarter-final, looks to be hitting top form again, admitting, “As soon as my serve goes well, I think I can really challenge anybody.” The Serbian has spent 10 hours, 27 minutes on court during the tournament.

If Lu reached the semi-finals he could break into the Top 35 of the South African Airways 2010 ATP Rankings on Monday.

[10] Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) vs [4] Andy Murray (GBR)
Andy Murray, the only player in the last eight not to drop a set, will be attempting to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals for a second year running. He has a 2-1 lead over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in all hard-court meetings.

A two-time Grand Slam championship runner-up, Murray said of his opponent, “[Tsonga’s] got a big game and he's a very good athlete. It's going to be a very, very tough match. He's very exciting to watch. I'm sure there will be some great shots played in the match."

Tsonga, playing only his fifth grass-court tournament, has never lost a five-set match. He has conceded the most games (75) to reach the last eight, almost twice as many as Murray’s 38. France’s last titlist at The Championships was Yvon Petra in 1946. The winner will play either...

[6] Robin Soderling (SWE) vs [2] Rafael Nadal (ESP)
Just over three weeks since Rafael Nadal clinched his fifth Roland Garros title with victory over Robin Soderling in the final, the pair will meet again for the seventh time. Nadal won their lone grass-court match, 6-4, 6-4, 6-7(7), 4-6, 7-5, in the 2007 Wimbledon third round.

The Spaniard has won an ATP World Tour-best 44 matches this year and has a 12-3 record in Grand Slam championship quarter-finals. The 2008 Wimbledon champion is one of just three Spanish men in the Open Era to win a grass-court title (also Andres Gimeno and David Ferrer), but the only one to have won multiple titles on the surface.

Soderling, the only Swede to start in the men’s draw, is bidding to become the first to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals since Jonas Bjorkman in 2006. The 25 year old could attain a career-high World No. 4 ranking if he equals or betters Murray’s performance at SW19.
