Unseeded Argentine duo Eduardo Schwank and Horacio Zeballos continued their dream run at the US Open by defeating fifth seeds Lukasz Kubot and Oliver Marach 6-3, 7-6(3) Tuesday to reach the semi-finals in New York.

Schwank and Zeballos have also beaten Wimbledon finalists Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau and fourth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi on their Grand Slam debut together at Flushing Meadows. It is the second time this season that 24-year-old Schwank has reached a major doubles semi-final, having reached the last four at Wimbledon with Juan Ignacio Chela.

Barclays ATP World Tour Finals qualification contenders, Kubot and Marach, were bidding to reach their sixth tour-level semi-final of the year. The Polish-Austrian duo have won two ATP World Tour titles at Santiago and Acapulco and are currently sixth in the 2010 ATP Doubles Team Rankings, with the top eight teams qualifying for the year-end championships in London.

For a place in the final Schwank and Zeballos will face Indian-Pakistan duo Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi, who reached their first major semi-final with a 7-5, 7-6(2) victory over No. 10 seeds Wesley Moodie and Dick Norman.

Top seeds Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan continued their smooth progress through the draw, dismissing Polish No. 9 seeds Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski 6-3, 7-5 to reach the semi-finals for the third straight year.

The Americans, who are two-time winners of the US Open crown, are on a 12-match winning streak after coming into Flushing Meadows with back-to-back titles at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati.

The twins, who have already secured their spot in the elite eight-team field at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, are looking to win their second major trophy of the season after triumphing at the Australian Open (d. Nestor-Zimonjic) in January.

The Bryans next will face Spanish No. 12 seeds Marcel Granollers and Tommy Robredo, who came through a tight second-set tie-break to prevail 6-4, 7-6(7) against No. 14 seeds Simon Aspelin and Paul Hanley.
