Three of the top five seeds take the court Thursday as the last four quarter-final berths at the Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur 2010 are up for grabs.

First up on Centre Court is No. 8 seed Andrey Golubev of Kazakhstan against Kevin Anderson of South Africa in a first-time meeting. Both players have reached a career-high ranking this season, Golubev at No. 36 in August and Anderson at No. 64 this week. In July, Golubev captured his first career ATP World Tour title in Hamburg and Anderson reached the semi-finals in Atlanta.

The second match on Centre Court pits No. 3 seed Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic against Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan. The two played once before, in the third round at Wimbledon, where Berdych prevailed in five sets en route to his first career Grand Slam final (l. to Nadal). Istomin is 0-5 in his career against Top 10 players, winning just one set (on grass earlier this year against Nadal).

In the evening session, top seed Robin Soderling of Sweden, meets  Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin, in a first-time meeting. Soderling is playing his first ATP World Tour match since the US Open (although he did play Davis Cup). It will be a tough task for World No. 106 Roger-Vasselin however, given Soderling hasn't lost to a player ranked outside the Top 100 since the Australian Open.

Last up is No. 5 seed David Ferrer against 18-year-old Indian wild card Yuki Bhambri. Ferrer has had a phenomenal year, currently knocking on the door of the Top 10 at No. 11. Bhambri is one of the future stars of the ATP World Tour, a former junior World No. 1 and 2009 Australian Open boys' champion, and he will be confident after picking up his first ATP World Tour match win in the first round.
