World No. 1 doubles pairing Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan maintained their perfect record in tour-level finals this season as they won their 10th title with a 6-1, 7-6(5) victory over Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski Sunday in the China Open final in Beijing. It was their 10th title, in their 10th final, on 10/10/10 (10 October, 2010).

"The numbers have been great for us this year," said Bob Bryan. "To win our 10th title on 10/10/10 is pretty crazy too! I was aware of that before the match. It feels awesome and hopefully we can keep the momentum going through the rest of the year."

The unstoppable Bryans won their fourth successive tour-level title, following victories in Toronto, Cincinnati, and at the US Open, and extended their winning streak to 18 matches unbeaten. As winners of the ATP World Tour 500 hard-court tennis tournament, the Americans received 500 ATP World Tour ranking points.

Having already secured their place at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, the Americans are hoping to be crowned ATP World Tour Doubles Champions for the second year in a row. They have had a phenomenal season, winning their eighth and ninth Grand Slam championships at the Australian Open and the US Open, and setting the Open Era record for the most team titles (62) with victory in Los Angeles.

"2010 has been a dream year, 10 titles so far," said Mike Bryan. "I don't think we've ever had 10 at this mark. We're 10-0 in finals. We've never been perfect, so we're really happy. In Shanghai [next week] we want to go in there and play well and win it. We still have four tournaments the rest of the year and we're trying to go for No. 1. If we do well there we can maybe clinch it. We're hoping."

The top seeds broke serve three times as they raced to a one-set lead over their Polish opponents. They then battled back from a 3-5 deficit in the second set and, following a rain delay at 6-5, came back to prevail in the tie-break after 72 minutes.

"We were pretty fortunate to break back in the second [set], we were really happy to go to the tie-break and then anything can happen," said Mike Bryan. "I thought we played a great tie-break, especially that 5-5 point, it was probably the point of the match."

The 32-year-old twins successfully defended their title at the China Open, have defeated Mark Knowles and Andy Roddick in the final last year. They are the first team to win back-to-back titles in Beijing and improved to an 8-0 tournament record.

"It's great for us to defend the title," said Bob Bryan. "It's always fun to come and do a tournament as a defending champion and then to defend it is even better. I think the reason why we play so well here is we like coming to Beijing. This facility is one of the best, if not 'the' best, in the world, and we feel a lot of love from the Chinese fans."

Fourth seeds Fyrstenberg and Matkowski did not lose a set en route to their third ATP World Tour final of the season. It is the second week in a row they have fallen short in a final, having finished runners-up (l. to Cermak-Mertinak) last week in Kuala Lumpur. They won their 11th ATP World Tour team title in Eastbourne (d. Fleming-Skupski) in June.

The Poles are hoping to qualify for the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals for the fourth time in five years and earned 300 ATP World Tour ranking points as runners-up in Beijing. They started the week at No. 11 in the year-to-date South African Airways 2010 ATP Rankings, with the top eight to qualify at the end of the regular season.
