Third seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes overcame Spanish-Argentine duo Feliciano Lopez and Juan Monaco 7-6(2), 6-4 Saturday in Melbourne to reach the third round of the Australian Open.

The Indians are both looking to complete the career Grand Slam by winning the Australian Open crown for the first time; they finished runners-up together in 1999, while Paes also reached the final in 2006 (w/ Damm) and Bhupathi in 2009 (w/ Knowles).

The Indian Express is making its first Grand Slam appearance in nine years, having enjoyed the perfect reunion in the first week of the 2011 ATP World Tour season by winning the Aircel Chennai Open title.

Bhupathi and Paes next will face Spanish No. 13 seeds Marcel Granollers and Tommy Robredo, who defeated Ukrainian-Czech tandem Alexandr Dolgopolov and Jan Hajek 7-5, 6-3. Granollers and Robredo converted five of their seven break point chances to seal victory in 63 minutes.
