Third seeds Frantisek Cermak and Filip Polasek won their first ATP World Tour team title on Sunday as they defeated fellow first-time finalists Oliver Marach and Alexander Peya 7-5, 6-2 in the rain-delayed title match at the Serbia Open 2011 in Belgrade.

The Czech-Slovak duo boasted a first serve percentage of 91 per cent and broke serve three times from nine opportunities to claim victory in 79 minutes. They received 250 ATP World Tour ranking points and €20,200 in prize money.

“We want to thank the people who stayed for the match, even if it was raining a lot,” said Polasek. “We are happy we were able to finish the match.”

Cermak added, “We are very happy. This is our first title together. We had a great week here.”

The victory had extra significance for the 34-year-old Cermak, who claimed his 300th tour-level win. The right-hander improved to a 23-16 mark in ATP World Tour finals. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Polasek won his fifth title from 11 finals. It was the first title of the season for both players.
