ATLANTA TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011
Atlanta Tennis Championships Partners With United Way
by Press Release|
The Atlanta Tennis Championships, the ATP World Tour event that will open the Olympus US Open Series, announced that United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta is the official primary charity for the 2011 and 2012 Atlanta Tennis Championships. The two-year partnership goal is to create additional opportunities for fundraising, awareness and community engagement for both the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta and the Atlanta Tennis Championships. The 2011 Atlanta Tennis Championships will be played at the Racquet Club of the South in Norcross, Ga., July 18-24.
The Atlanta Tennis Championships also announced a “Summer of Love” promotion. Whenever a player wins a love set (a score of 6-0), the ATC will make a $500 donation to the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta. In addition, the two organizations are working together to sell corporate partnerships to the Atlanta Tennis Championships with a committed portion of partnership fees going to the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.
“United Way couldn’t be more excited about this partnership with the Atlanta Tennis Championships. This is an extraordinary opportunity, and the ‘Summer of Love’ is a perfect way to describe convening some of the best tennis players in the world, our most charitable partners and the passionate tennis community — a perfect trio,” says Milton J. Little, Jr., president of United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta. “We are grateful that the ATC has chosen to use this event as a powerful community change agent.”
"This is Atlanta's tournament and there is no greater charitable organization to reach out to the entire Atlanta community than the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta," said Atlanta Tennis Championships Tournament Director Bob Bryant.
“We could not be more excited to utilize our ATP World Tour event as a catalyst for both United States Tennis Association community tennis outreach as well as an asset for the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta. We are mutually committed to sustainable change in education, income, health, homelessness and diversity. With today's powerful men's game we look for a few big servers to bring home some love sets to add to the charitable giving commitment. Let the love begin!"
Individual session tickets, including Champion Courtside, Platinum and Gold seats, along with Reserved Stadium seats, go on sale tomorrow. Additionally, weeklong ticket packages, which include tickets to all 11 sessions, are on sale. Packages include Champion Courtside seats, which are the only packages that offer tickets located in the front row of the stadium.
