Bear Grylls, host of the ultimate survival show Man vs. Wild, encountered a challenge of a different sort when he faced off against Andre Agassi on a tennis court in Las Vegas.
Grylls, who first met Agassi earlier this year at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, visited the former ATP World Tour No. 1 at the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, where the pair mingled and spoke with students.
“It was so amazing to see the extraordinary work that the Andre Agassi Prep school is doing in Las Vegas,” said Grylls. “What a model to try and duplicate across the U.S. – driven by teamwork and determination as the ethos of the school.”
Grylls, an avid tennis player, then held his own against Agassi on the court. “agassi-grylls tennis was a draw - & I consider myself lucky at that!!” he tweeted.
He admitted: “It was fun also to get a chance to hit a few tennis balls with Andre afterwards, although I think he was being kind letting me sneak a game off him!”
