Fish dismissed 19-year-old American Ryan Harrison 6-2, 6-4 to reach his first final of the season. The World No. 9 did not drop serve, and broke Harrison three times to wrap up the victory in one hour and 19 minutes.

Last year, Fish won the inaugural edition of this ATP World Tour 250 event, edging Isner in a final set tie-break. The 6’ 9’’ American will have the opportunity to avenge that loss on Sunday, after booking his place in the final with a 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-1 win over Gilles Muller.

The University of Georgia graduate served up a storm, firing 28 aces and winning 77 per cent of both his first and second service points. After dropping the second set tie-break, the American raced to a 5-0 lead in the third set. Muller held his serve to get on the board, but Isner quickly closed out the match to claim victory in two hours and 28 minutes.

Isner is coming off his first title of the season, having triumphed at the Campbell’s Hall Of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport (d. Rochus).

The two have meet three times and Fish holds a 2-1 advantage, with all three of their clashes going three sets. Isner won their latest meeting at the Mutua Madrid Open in May, while Fish has prevailed in both of their previous hard-court meetings.

Fish will contest his 18th ATP World Tour singles final (5-12), while Isner is appearing in his seventh (2-4).
