Melzer-Petzschner Qualify For Barclays ATP World Tour Finals

Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner have qualified for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in November by lifting the US Open doubles title.

The Austrian-German team are currently No. 5 in the year-to-date 2011 ATP Doubles Team Rankings, but they can't slip out of the Top 20.

By qualifying for the second straight year, they join Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan, Michael Llodra and Nenad Zimonjic and Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor at the season finale to be held at The O2 in London from 20-27 November.

Melzer and Petzschner beat Poles Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski 6-2, 6-2 in the US Open final on Saturday. Match Report

It was their third title of the season, which includes success at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam (d. Llodra-Zimonjic) and the MercedesCup in Stuttgart (d. Granollers-M. Lopez).
