The Barclays Ball Kid of the Year Award was presented earlier today to Lynsey Cover from Nottingham on court at the 2011 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

Three-time Wimbledon Champion Boris Becker presented 16-year-old Cover with the award in front of a packed crowd at The O2 London prior to the start of the doubles final. The Award is given to the Barclays Ball Kid who demonstrates an exceptionally high level of performance both on and off the court throughout the tournament.

Cover was one of 30 youngsters in the Barclays Ball Kid Squad that took part in an annual nationwide search launched this time last year by Barclays to find the best ball kids for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

Barclays Ball Kid head trainer Mark Magrath was responsible for selecting the 2011 Barclays Ball Kid of the year, with input from former World No 1 Boris Becker and Managing Director of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals Chris Kermode. Their selection was based on skill and technical ability on court, fitness, leadership, team work and displaying outstanding manners and conduct at all time.

"Lynsey is an excellent representative of the Barclays Ball Kids programme. She has demonstrated exceptional talent and leadership both on and off the court," said Magrath, Barclays Ball Kids head coach.
