Bopanna-Qureshi Qualify For London; Three Teams To Vie For Final Spot

Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi have qualified for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, to be held at The O2 in London from 20-27 November, leaving three teams in the battle for the final doubles berth at this week’s BNP Paribas Masters in Paris.

The ‘Indo-Pak Express’ will be part of the eight-team field for the first time, after serving as alternates last year.

Bopanna and Qureshi have won two titles together this season, claiming the grass court crown in Halle and the indoor hard court title in Stockholm. They also reached the semi-finals at the US Open.

Eric Butorac and Jean-Julien Rojer currently hold down the eighth spot in the 2011 ATP Doubles Team Rankings, moving past four-time qualifiers Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski in the standings following their runner-up effort in Valencia.

Brazilians Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares, semi-finalists in Valencia, also remain in contention in the No. 10 position but must win the title this week in Paris to have a have a chance to qualify.
