Mirnyi-Nestor Continue Win Streak In Sydney

Doubles 2012

Fresh off their title triumph at the Brisbane International, Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor kept things rolling at the Apia International Sydney on Tuesday, cruising past John Isner and Ryan Sweeting 6-4, 6-2.

The No. 2 seeds broke the Americans four times, and won all 10 of their first serve points in the second set to take the first-round meeting in just 53 minutes.

Mirnyi and Nestor are riding a nine-match win streak dating back to a semi-final loss last year at the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris (l. to Bopanna-Qureshi). They closed out the 2011 season by capturing the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals with a perfect 5-0 record.

Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins advanced to the quarter-finals with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Marcel Granollers and Lukasz Kubot. The British duo saved five of the six break points they faced to secure their first win of the season in one hour and 12 minutes.
