Top seeds and five-time champions Bob and Mike Bryan extended their winning streak at the Australian Open to 22 matches after toughing out a 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-4 win over long-time rivals Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Melbourne. Playing the second night match on Rod Laver Arena following the long singles quarter-final between Rafael Nadal and Tomas Berdych, the Bryans toiled past 2 a.m. before claiming victory. The Bryans broke the Matkowski serve at 4-all in the decider and then Bob Bryan served out the match to 15.

The Bryans improved their career win-loss record at the year's first major to 50-7. They have reached the final seven of the past eight years, and remain on course to win their fourth consecutive title and sixth in seven years.

In the semi-finals the 33-year-old American twins will meet seventh seeds Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau, whom they defeated in last year's Wimbledon final. Lindstedt and Tecau advanced to the semi-finals with a 6-4, 6-4 win over 13th-seeded Americans Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram.

The Swedish-Romanian duo saved all three break points faced on serve and broke their opponents once in each set for the one hour, 16-minute victory. Lindstedt and Tecau, who are making their team’s second appearance at the Australian Open, will look to reach their third Grand Slam final.
