Hanley-Murray Advance In Montpellier

No. 3 seeds Paul Hanley and Jamie Murray edged Martin Emmrich and Andreas Siljestrom 7-6(8), 3-6, 10-7 in the first round of the Open Sud de France on Tuesday.

Hanley and Murray won two fewer points than their opponents, but won the decisive Match Tie-break to advance in one hour and 37 minutes. They’ll play wild cards Kenny De Schepper and Fabrice Martin in the quarter-finals.

Nicolas Mahut and Edouard Roger-Vasselin won an all-French clash, topping Adrian Mannarino and Gilles Simon 6-3, 7-5. Mahut and Roger-Vasselin converted just two of their 14 break point opportunities, but held in all of their service games to beat their countrymen in one hour and nine minutes.

At the PBZ Zagreb Indoors, second seeds Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram won their first-round match, defeating Michal Mertinak and Andreas Seppi 6-3, 6-4. The Israeli tandem did not lose serve, and broke Mertinak and Seppi once in each set to claim the one hour victory.

Benjamin Becker and Alexander Waske upset third-seeded James Cerretani and Dick Norman 7-6(2), 6-4 in one hour and 17 minutes. The Germans saved all four break points they faced to reach the quarter-finals.

Wild cards Ivan Dodig and Mate Pavic beat Andreas Beck and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-3, 6-2 in one hour and 25 minutes.

In Viña del Mar, No. 2 seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah defeated Italians Paolo Lorenzi and Filippo Volandri 6-2, 5-7, 10-6 to advance to the VTR Open quarter-finals. Likewise, fourth seeds Pablo Andujar and Carlos Bercloq secured their final eight berth with a 6-2, 3-6, 10-7 victory against Eric Prodon and Adrian Ungur.
