MONTPELLIER TUESDAY PREVIEW – NO. 5 LOPEZ, NO. 7 KOHLSCHREIBER JOIN SEVEN FRENCHMEN IN ACTION
• There are nine first round matches on Tuesday’s schedule at the Open Sud de France with three seeds and seven Frenchmen in action.
• In the opening match, Belgian Olivier Rochus and No. 7 seed Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany meet for the fifth time (tied 2-2). Earlier this month in Auckland, Rochus defeated Kohlschreiber in three sets in the semi-finals before losing to World No. 5 David Ferrer in the final. It was the 10th career ATP World Tour final (2-8) for the 31-year-old Rochus. Kohlschreiber opened the season with a three-set loss to No. 2 Rafael Nadal in the first round of Doha, then reached the semi-finals in Auckland and fourth round at the Australian Open (l. to del Potro).
• In the second match, French wild card Paul-Henri Mathieu and German Cedrik-Marcel Stebe, who is the youngest player in the draw at 21 years, 3 months, meet for the first time. Mathieu, who missed all of last season with a knee injury, last played in Basel in November 2010. The four-time ATP World Tour winner, captured his first title in Lyon where the tournament used to be played. Stebe is ranked a career-high No. 72 and he’s looking for his first ATP World Tour match win (0-2) of the season. Last week he reached the semi-finals at the Heilbronn Challenger in his home country.
• In the next match, Spaniard Albert Ramos and Frenchman Nicolas Mahut square off for the first time. Ramos finished in the Top 100 for the first time last season at No. 66 and he was a quarter-finalist in Umag and Bucharest. Mahut comes in with a 2-2 mark this year and No. 78 ranking. He lost to eventual champion Novak Djokovic in the third round at the Australian Open. It was his best Grand Slam result since a third round showing at Wimbledon in 2006.
• In the final match, No. 5 seed Feliciano Lopez of Spain and Russian Igor Kunitsyn face off for the first time. Lopez comes in this week ranked a career-high No. 15 and he’s one of four Spaniards in the Top 15. The left-hander from Madrid advanced to the fourth round at the Australian Open. Kunitsyn is looking for his first match win (0-3) of the season.
• On Court 1, there are five Frenchmen on the schedule, including three qualifiers. The lone seed on that court is No. 8 Jarkko Nieminen, who takes on French qualifier Maxime Teixeira. Nieminen captured his second career ATP World Tour title in Sydney earlier this month (d. Benneteau).

ZAGREB TUESDAY PREVIEW – FORMER CHAMPS BAGHDATIS, STAKHOVSKY, THREE SEEDS IN ACTION
• There are seven first round matches on Tuesday’s schedule at the PBZ Zagreb Indoors with a pair of former champions and three seeds leading the way on Centre Court.
• In the first match, Croatian wild card Dino Marcan, who is the youngest (20) player in the draw, makes his ATP World Tour main draw debut against No. 2 seed Alex Bogomolov Jr. of Russia. Marcan comes in ranked No. 354 and he’s compiled his best results on the Futures level with a 2-2 mark in finals last season. In 2011, Bogomolov earned ATP Most Improved Player of the Year on the ATP World Tour, jumping from No. 166 in 2010 to No. 34. He reached two semi-finals (Los Angeles, St. Petersburg) and was a four-time quarter-finalist. Last year he reached the quarter-finals here.
• In the second match, No. 3 Mikhail Youzhny of Russia, a semi-finalist in 2007, takes on 2008 Zagreb champion Sergiy Stakhovsky for the fourth time. Youzhny leads 2-1, posting both of his wins on home soil in Moscow in 2009 and St. Petersburg last year. Youzhny, who is the No. 2 Russian (behind Bogomolov Jr.), enters with a 2-2 match record on the season. Stakhovsky is looking to turn around his slow start (1-3) by continuing his success in Zagreb (7-1). The No. 2 Ukrainian (behind No. 18 Dolgopolov), is a four-time winner on the ATP World Tour.
• In the third match, Blaz Kavcic of Slovenia and No. 8 seed Ivo Karlovic of Croatia meet for the first time. Last season Kavcic finished in the Top 100 for the first time at No. 92 and was a three-time quarter-finalist on the ATP World Tour. He comes in ranked No. 111. Karlovic is making his seventh appearance in Zagreb (6-6 mark) and he advanced to the quarter-finals in 2006 and 2010. He is coming off a third round showing at the Australian Open (l. to Federer). He ranks No. 46 this week, his first Top 50 ranking since July 5, 2010.
• In the final match, No. 6 seed and 2007 winner Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus meets Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic for the first time. Baghdatis returns to Zagreb for the first time since winning the title five years ago. He opened the season with a quarter-final in Brisbane and semi-final in Sydney. Last season Rosol finished in the Top 100 for the first time at No. 70 and he compiled his best results on the Challenger circuit with a 29-12 mark and two titles in three finals.
• On Court 1, two-time defending runner-up Michael Berrer of Germany plays Swiss qualifier Marco Chiudinelli. Berrer won the previous ATP World Tour meeting in Bangkok last year and they split two qualifying meetings. Top Austrian Jurgen Melzer, who qualified into the main draw for the first time since Metz in September 2007, looks for his first win (0-3) against doubles partner Philipp Petzschner.

VINA DEL MAR TUESDAY PREVIEW – LOCAL FAVORITES GONZALEZ, MASSU HIGHLIGHT DAY TWO ACTION
• First round action at the VTR Open continues on Tuesday with a pair of local wild cards taking the courts for the first time on the ATP World Tour this season.
• In the opening match on Central Court, Frederico Gil of Portugal takes on Italian Paolo Lorenzi for the first time. Gil is coming off a career-best third round showing at the Australian Open (l. to Tsonga). Last season Gil finished just outside the Top 100 (at No. 102) and he became the first Portuguese player to reach the quarter-finals at an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament in Monte-Carlo (l. to Murray). Lorenzi also ranked just outside the Top 100 (at No 108) last year, his second-best year-end ranking, and he compiled a 39-21 match record in Challengers with a pair of titles.
• In the second match, Spaniards Ruben Ramirez-Hidalgo and No. 5 seed Albert Montanes meet for the sixth time (Montanes leads 4-1).  Ramirez-Hidalgo, who is the oldest player in the draw at 34, qualified into the main draw by winning three matches in as many days. His lone win in the series came here in Vina del Mar six years ago in the quarter-finals. Montanes comes in with an 0-2 match mark on the season. Last year he was runner-up in Kitzbuehel (l. to Haase) and a semi-finalist in Casablanca.
• In the next match, four-time champion and former World No. 5 Fernando Gonzalez and Spaniard Pere Riba square off for the first time. Gonzalez, who has been hampered with a knee injury over the past year, is making his season debut. The 31-year-old Santiago resident has a 31-6 career mark in the event and he won the title in 2002, ’04, ’08-09. Last season Riba finished in the Top 100 for the second straight year at No. 89, winning a personal-best 11 matches and reaching his maiden ATP World Tour quarter-final in Casablanca.
• In the final match, 2006-07 finalist Nicolas Massu faces Argentine qualifier Federico Delbonis for the first time. Massu went winless on the ATP World Tour last season (0-3) and his last match win came in April 2010 when he reached the quarter-finals in Houston. He comes in with a career mark of 14-13 in this tournament and he’s trying to break a four-match first round losing streak on home soil since reaching the final five years ago (l. to Horna). Last season Delbonis broke through to reach his first ATP World Tour semi-final in Stuttgart in July (l. to Ferrero). He ranked a career-high No. 117 on July 19, 2010 and this week is No. 172.
• On outside courts, there are five matches, including No. 7 seed Carlos Berlocq , who is 2-0 against Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver. Berlocq was a quarter-finalist here in 2007-08 and is 4-4 in Chile.
