The 11th-ranked Almagro helped his country reach its sixth straight Davis Cup quarter-final this past weekend by winning his singles rubber against Andrey Golubev in Spain's 5-0 defeat over Kazakhstan. A wild card in Sao Paulo, Almagro will look to replicate his 2011 success during the “Golden Swing”, which saw the Spaniard ride a 13-match win streak with title triumphs in Costa Do Sauipe and Buenos Aires, and a runner-up finish in Acapulco. All of Almagro’s 10 career titles have come on clay, with his latest victory coming in Nice last May.

Fan-tastic Feedback

Jez Mak: "Will miss watching his aggressive no-holes-barred baseline hitting, going for winners from ridiculous positions way behind the baseline!"
Roberto Lanzanova: "He's one of the smartest players, I met him in Rome years ago, he was very kind and polite! I wish you all the best Bombardero!"
Sherry Nassif: "His amazing monster forehand. Sense of humour. Putting his shoes in the rubbish bin at Wimbledon. Good man, will miss his dynamic play."
Richard King: "Now who is going to erase the ball mark on a clay court any better than this guy?"
