Top-seeded Indians Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna defeated Arnaud Clement and Lukas Dlouhy 6-3, 6-4 on Thursday for a place in the Open 13 semi-finals. The pair converted three of eight break point opportunities.

They will next challenge Dustin Brown and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who hit eight aces past third seeds Jean-Julien Rojer and Igor Zelenay 6-1, 7-6(4) in 66 minutes. The German-French team lost 11 points on their serves and saved all three break points.

The top seeds at the Copa Claro, Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace, fell to the French-Argentine pairing of Eric Prodon and Horacio Zeballos 1-6, 6-3, 12-10 in their quarter-final match Thursday in Buenos Aires. Bracciali and Starace had reached the semi-finals last week in Sao Paulo, falling to Michal Mertinak and Andre Sa.

Mertinak and Sa, the No. 2 seeds in Buenos Aires, made their way safely into the semi-finals with a 7-6(5), 6-3 win over Frenchmen Jeremy Chardy and Gilles Simon.

Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor edged past Ryan Harrison and Denis Kudla 7-6(9), 3-6, 10-8 at the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships in Memphis.

Top-seeded Miryni and Nestor converted one of six break point opportunities to reach the semi-finals in one hour and 34 minutes.

Elsewhere, British duo Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins ousted No. 3 seeds Frantisek Cermak and Filip Polasek 6-3, 3-6, 10-3 in 77 minutes. The No. 13-ranked British duo extended their FedEx ATP Head 2 Head lead to 2-0, having beaten Cermak and Polasek in St. Petersburg in 2011.

They now face Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo for a place in the final. The Croatian-Brazilian duo defeated Frenchman Julien Benneteau and Belgian Olivier Rochus 6-3, 6-4 in 61 minutes.
