MEMPHIS PREVIEW – ISNER, RODDICK TOP SEEDS IN SECOND 500 LEVEL TOURNAMENT
• The second ATP World Tour 500 tournament of the season, the first in the U.S., features an impressive line-up led by the American duo of John Isner and Andy Roddick, the reigning champion and three-time winner (2002, ’09) in Memphis. He also reached the final in 2003 and ’07. Isner, who is ranked a career-high No. 13, is the top seed for the second time in his career. In Newport last year he captured the title as top seed.
• The other seeds are: No. 3 Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic who was runner-up in 2009, No. 4 Milos Raonic of Canada, last year’s finalist, No. 5 Alex Bogomolov Jr. of Russia, No. 6 Julien Benneteau of France, No. 7 Kevin Anderson of South Africa and No. 8 Bernard Tomic of Australia.
• Raonic is coming off his second ATP World Tour title of the season on Sunday at the SAP Open in San Jose. The 21-year-old Canadian is 11-1 on the season. Bogomolov and Tomic are the lone seeds making their main draw debut in Memphis.
• There are two singles matches on Monday’s schedule, leading off with Croat Ivan Dodig against Tomic in a first-time meeting. Tomic, who is the top Aussie on the ATP World Tour, is the youngest player in the draw at 19 years, 3 months and he is off to a 7-2 start this season. In the second match, Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria looks for his second win against American Donald Young. Both players are off to slow starts this season with one match win. Dimitrov is making his Memphis debut and Young was a quarter-finalist in 2008.

• The No. 2 seed is World No. 8 Mardy Fish, who is making his tournament debut. The 30-year-old American is coming off an impressive Davis Cup performance in which he accounted for two points in the U.S.A.’s 5-0 sweep over Switzerland. The No. 3 seed is World No. 9 Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia followed by No. 4 Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina, who is making his Marseille debut, and coming off a runner-up effort in Rotterdam (l. to Federer) on Sunday.
