DUBAI THURSDAY PREVIEW - SEVEN TOP 10 STARS HEADLINE FANTASTIC QUARTER-FINALS LINE-UP

• An all-star line-up takes Centre Court on Thursday for the quarter-finals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, with seven Top 10 players and a former World No. 8 in action. It is the first time since 2005 in Dubai that seven of the top eight seeds have reached the quarter-finals

• The quarter-finals at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel on Thursday feature four Spaniards, including the top two seeds and a former World No. 7.

• In the first match on Cancha Central, No. 8 seed Fernando Verdasco brings a 4-2 career mark, all on clay, against No. 2 seed and countryman Nicolas Almagro. Both players have enjoyed success in Mexico with Verdasco advancing to the final in 2004 and Almagro capturing titles in 2008-09 and reaching the final last year. Verdasco is trying to reach his second ATP World Tour semi-final of the season and Almagro his third in as many weeks and fourth overall on the year.

• In the next match, Swiss No. 2 Stanislas Wawrinka looks for his second win against Frenchman Jeremy Chardy.Both players are trying to reach their second ATP World Tour semi-final of the season. Chardy was a semi-finalist in Vina del Mar last month and Wawrinka last week in Buenos Aires.

• In the third match, top seed and two-time reigning champion David Ferrer brings a 15-1 match record on the season against countryman Pablo Andujar. Ferrer won the previous meeting in his hometown of Valencia in Apirl 2008. Ferrer is on a 12-match winning streak in Acapulco and he owns a career mark of 15-3 here. Andujar is making his first quarter-final showing of the season.

• In the final match of the day between unseeded players, Carlos Berlocq and top Colombian Santiago Giraldo square off for the first time on the ATP World Tour. Berlocq is off to a career-best 12-5 start while Giraldo is into the quarter-finals in Acapulco for the second straight year.

• Second round play concludes on Thursday at the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships with three seeds looking to advance on to the quarter-finals.

• In the first singles match of the day, top Israeli Dudi Sela looks to reach his first quarter-final in Delray Beach as he takes on Jarkko Nieminen of Finland. Nieminen won the previous meeting in Memphis two years ago. Sela is attempting to reach his second ATP World Tour quarter-final of the season. He reached the quarters in the opening week in Chennai.Nieminen is 11-5 on the year and he’s aiming for his fourth quarter-final. His best result here was the semi-finals two years ago.

• In the second match, No. 5 seed Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany brings a 1-0 mark against Croat Ivan Dodig, who reached the quarter-finals here last year. Kohlschreiber came in this week 1-3 in Delray Beach and he’s 11-5 in 2012. He’s been a semi-finalist in Auckland and Montpellier in the first two months. Dodig is 5-7 on the campaign and he’s trying to reach his second quarter-final (Zagreb).

• In the final match of the day session, two-time Delray Beach champion Xavier Malisse takes on No. 7 seed and top South African Kevin Anderson, who won the previous meeting at ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Cincinnati last August. Malisse is trying to reach his first ATP World Tour quarter-final of the season and his seventh in the tournament. He’s 25-9 lifetime in 11 tournament appearances. He won the title in 2005 and ’07 while reaching the final in 1999, ’01 and ’06. Anderson is 6-4 on the season and he was a quarter-finalist in San Jose two weeks ago.

• In the evening session, No. 4 seed and 2002 Delray Beach finalist Andy Roddick squares off with Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan for the second time. Two weeks ago Istomin won 62 64 in the quarter-finals of San Jose en route to the final. Roddick, who played his first ATP World Tour tournament here 12 years ago and who last competed in Delray Beach in 2003, enters ranked No. 30, his lowest ranking since August 13, 2001. He’s 3-3 on the year. Istomin is off to a career-best 10-5 start in the first two months of the season.He’s already reached three ATP World Tour quarter-finals or better (one in 2011).
