Eighteen Players Graduate ATP University

Miami, U.S.A.

Eighteen players attended the ATP University at the Mayfair Hotel & Spa in Miami on Thursday. After a welcome dinner, the players were educated on topics such as Marketing the Tour, Social Media, Media Training, Personal Finance, Rules & Regulations, and Giving Back in a number of seminars.

Rising American star, Ryan Harrison, said, "I think it’s great what they’re doing to help the players with their development and their media relations. I think it’s awesome to learn more about what’s going on, and the way they’re trying to educate the players in every aspect of life is very good to see."

Harrison’s fellow American Denis Kudla added, "It’s a good couple of days to educate us with stuff that we don’t really hear every single day. How to manage our money, how to do interviews, and just figure out things that go out outside the tennis court. It’s good to know what’s happening."

Germany’s Cedrik-Marcel Stebe said, "I think it’s very informative. It’s a good opportunity to get to know the ATP a little bit better and have inside view of what it’s doing. It’s good for us and it’s great to be here and see how everything works."

Australia’s Marinko Matosevic said, "The ATP University here in Miami has been a very valuable learning experience so far for me and I hope it continues along this path. I’m really finding out how the ATP works to help us on and off the court, all the employees it has, the financial side, the tennis side and the media side. It’s been great."

Spain’s David Marrero commented: "Before coming here I spoke to people that have already attended the University and a lot of them spoke very well about it. It has been very interesting and I liked it a lot. It has been more productive than I thought it would be. I am leaving with good information about important subjects that we did not know about and are very useful for the players. It has been very satisfactory."

Fellow Spaniard Roberto Bautista-Agut added: "Before coming here I did not know much about how the classes were going to be and there have been classes that will help us a lot in the circuit. I also think that the interaction with the players and the people that teach the classes is very good. On top of that we go to have dinner to very good restaurants."
