MUNICH TOURNAMENT PREVIEW – TOP TWO SEEDS TSONGA, LOPEZ MAKE MUNICH DEBUT

• This year’s BMW Open by Atlanticlux  is headlined by World No. 5 and top seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France and No. 2 seed Feliciano Lopez of Spain. Both players are making their debut here this week and they are the lone representatives from their respective country in the draw.
• In addition there are four former champions in the 28-player field, led by two-time champ (2004, ’11) and No. 7 seed Nikolay Davydenko of Russia, 2010 winner Mikhail Youzhny of Russia, the No. 6 seed, 2007 titlist and No. 4 seed Philipp Kohlschreiber, who is the No. 2 German. Unseeded Belgian Olivier Rochus won the title in 2006. Other seeds are: No. 3 Marin Cilic of Croatia, a runner-up two years ago, No. 5 Bernard Tomic of Australia, and No. 8 Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus.
• There are a tournament-high eight Germans in the field, not including a possible four more players, all in the last round of qualifying on Monday. There  are two main draw singles matches, with No. 5 Tomic making his Munich debut against Rochus in a first-time meeting. Rochus defeated countryman Kristof Vliegen to win the title here in ’06. In the other main draw match on Court 4, another Belgian, Steve Darcis, takes on top Colombian Santiago Giraldo.

BELGRADE TOURNAMENT PREVIEW –  ANDUJAR, SEPPI, NIEMINEN, NALBANDIAN TOP 4 IN SERBIA OPEN

• The fourth edition of the Serbia Open gets underway Monday at the MGM Tennis Complex with Pablo Andujar of Spain the top seed for the first time in his career in an ATP World Tour event. The Spaniard is coming off a repeat title effort in Casablanca two weeks ago. He is making his Belgrade debut.
• The other seeds in the 28-player field are: No. 2 Andreas Seppi of Italy, a semi-finalist here three years ago, No. 3 Jarkko Nieminen of Finland, No. 4 David Nalbandian of Argentina, a former World No. 3, No. 5 Lukasz Kubot of Poland, a finalist here in 2009, No. 6 Fabio Fognini of Italy, coming off his first ATP World Tour final in Bucharest on Sunday, No. 7 Ryan Harrison of the U.S., the youngest player in the draw,and No. 8 Gilles Muller of Luxembourg.
• On Monday’s schedule, there are four final round qualifying matches and three main draw singles matches. The first main draw match on Centre Court is Ivan Dodig of Croatia against Adrian Ungur of Romania. In the second match, wild cards Evgeny Donskoy of Russia and Dusan Lajovic of Serbia meet for the first time. ESTORIL TOURNAMENT PREVIEW – TOP SEED & REIGNING CHAMP DEL POTRO, NO. 2 GASQUET LEAD FIELD

• This year’s Estoril Open is led by top seed and reigning champion Juan Martin del Potro, who makes his tournament  clay court debut on the ATP World Tour. He did win two Davis Cup matches on clay to help Argentina into the semi-finals.
• The other seeds are: No. 2 Richard Gasquet of France, a finalist here in 2007, No. 3 Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland, No. 4 Albert Ramos of Spain, No. 5 Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan, No. 6 Robin Haase of the Netherlands, No. 7 Albert Montanes of Spain, a 2009-10 winner, and No. 8 Flavio Cipolla of Italy. Wawrinka, Ramos, Istomin and Haase are making their Estoril debut.
• On the home front, there are five Portuguese players in the main draw, including 2010 finalist and No. 2 local player Frederico Gil, who is making his seventh straight appearance in Estoril with a 10-6 career mark.  He also reached the quarter-finals in 2006 and ’08.
• There are four final round qualifying matches and three singles first round matches on Monday’s schedule. In the first men’s match on Central, Simone Bolelli of Italy takes on No. 6 Haase for the first time. Haase reached his first ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final in Monte Carlo. In the second match, No. 5 Istomin looks for his second win in as many meetings against Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu. On Centralito, Paolo Lorenzi of Italy squares off with Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
