Top seeds Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan advanced to the Open de Nice Côte d’Azur semi-finals Wednesday, battling past Daniele Bracciali and Jamie Murray 4-6, 6-2, 10-7.
Both teams struggled to break serve, with the Bryans converting two of their 11 break point opportunities, and Bracciali/Murray going just one for eight. The Bryans overcame an early mini-break deficit in the Match Tie-break to prevail in 72 minutes.
The American twins are looking to win their third title of the season, and will face No. 3 seeds Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer for a place in the final. Qureshi and Rojer, who captured the Estoril Open title, dismissed Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram 6-3, 6-2.
In first-round action, John Isner and Sam Querrey knocked out second seeds Rohan Bopanna and David Marrero 6-3, 6-3. The American wild card pair broke serve five times in the 55-minute victory.
Paul Hanley and Julian Knowle also won their opener, edging Sao Paulo titlists Eric Butorac and Bruno Soares 3-6, 6-3, 11-9.
