Lindstedt/Tecau Suffer Shock Loss; 'Polish Power' Reach Third Round

Fifth seeds Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau, one of the in-form teams coming into Roland Garros, suffered a shock second-round exit to Treat Conrad Huey and Dominic Inglot on Friday.

Huey and Inglot converted two of five break points to beat last year's quarter-finalists 6-3, 6-4 in 74 minutes. Lindstedt and Tecau dropped to a 22-12 match record on the season.

Fourth seeds Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski hit five aces and five winners past Argentina's Juan Ignacio Chela and Eduardo Schwank in a 7-6(4), 6-4 win in one hour and 44 minutes. Schwank finished runner-up with Juan Sebastian Cabal last year.

Eighth seeds Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner recorded a 6-3, 7-6(7) victory over Carlos Berlocq and David Marrero in 91 minutes, winning 36 of their 43 first service points.

Tenth seed Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer, last month's Estoril Open titlists, scraped into the third round with a hard-fought 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(4) victory over Bjorn Phau and Adil Shamasdin in two hours and 27 minutes.

Elsewhere, Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo overcame ninth seeds Frantisek Cermak and Filip Polasek 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(4), while Oliver Marach and Horacio Zeballos defeated No. 11 seeds Santiago Gonzalez and Christopher Kas 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-1.

Italian No. 14 seeds Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace won 55 of their 89 service points to beat Alexandr Dolgopolov and Denys Molchanov 6-1, 6-7(6), 6-4 in just over two hours. Colombian 16th seeds Cabal and Robert Farah knocked out James Cerretani and Victor Hanescu 6-4, 6-3 in 80 minutes.
