Llodra/Zimonjic Blast Into Second Round; Bhupathi/Bopanna Crash Out

Third seeds Michael Llodra and Nenad Zimonjic, who reached the Roland Garros semi-finals last year, hit six aces and won 21 of their 25 first service points to beat Spaniards Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo and Albert Ramos 6-1, 6-1 in 43 minutes on Thursday.
Fourth-seeded Poles Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski were made to work hard for their second-round berth, defeating Spaniards Pablo Andujar and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. The 2010 Roland Garros quarter-finalists, nicknamed 'Polish Power', won two clay-court titles in the lead-in, triumphing at Barcelona (d. Granollers/Lopez) and Madrid (d. Lindstedt/Tecau).
Fifth seeds Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau improved to an 11-4 record since teaming up with new coach Ashley Fisher. The Swedish-Romanian team converted three of their seven break point opportunities to defeat Alex Bogomolov Jr. and Dick Norman 6-4, 6-2 in 72 minutes.
Despite hitting eight aces and as many winners, sixth-seeded Indians Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna suffered a first-round exit to Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Marc Gicquel, losing 1-6, 7-5, 6-3, in 95 minutes.
Elsewhere, No. 11 seeds Santiago Giraldo and Christopher Kas beat Germans Matthias Bachinger and Frank Moser 6-2, 7-6(7), while Italian No. 14 seeds Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace topped Martin Emmrich and Andreas Siljestrom 7-6(4), 6-7(2), 6-1.
