Mikhail Youzhny reached the fourth round at The Championships for the seventh time in 12 Wimbledon appearances on Friday.

The Russian No. 26 seed knocked out eighth-seeded Serbian Janko Tipsarevic 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 and he will now be hoping to reach the quarter-finals for the first time.

The 30-year-old Youzhny will next face Denis Istomin, who became the first Uzbek to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam championship after he beat Colombian Alejandro Falla 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(5), having hit 16 aces and 33 winners.

France’s Richard Gasquet, the No. 18 seed, overcame No. 12 seed and fellow 26-year-old Nicolas Almagro 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in one hour and 38 minutes.

Gasquet broke a three-match losing streak against Almagro (1-3 lifetime) and is now 17-6 at Wimbledon, where he reached the 2007 semi-finals (l. to Roddick).
