STUTTGART TUESDAY PREVIEW – FOUR GERMANS HIGHLIGHT CENTRE COURT ACTION, LED BY HAAS
• The remaining nine first round matches on Tuesday at the MercedesCup feature four German players on Centre Court

• In the first match on, top Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci meets 18-year-old wild card Robin Kern, who is playing in only his second career ATP World Tour main draw. Bellucci is ranked No. 64 and he’s trying to even his match record on the season (12-13). The left-hander’s best results are a semi-final on home soil in Sao Paulo in February and the quarter-finals in Nice in May, both on clay. Kern is ranked No. 658 and he’s been playing most Futures events this seaon.

• In the second match on, Benoit Paire of France takes on German Philipp Petzschner for the first time. Paire is one of the most improved players on the ATP World Tour this season. The 23-year-old from Avignon is ranked a career-high No .47 and he enters with an 18-14 match record. Last year he finished No. 95 with a 5-10 mark. Paire has played well on all surfaces, reaching his first ATP World Tour final in Belgrade (on clay), advancing to the semi-finals in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (on grass) and the quarter-finals in Auckland (on hard). Petzschner’s best result is a runner-up in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (l. to Ferrer) last month. He is ranked No. 91 with a 7-12 match record.

• In the third match on, wild card entry and No. 8 seed Tommy Haas squares off with Russian Igor Andreev for the third time (tied 1-1).  Last month Haas won his 13th career ATP World Tour title on home soil in Halle (d. Federer). The 34-year-old Haas is the oldest winner on the ATP World Tour since Fabrice Santoro (35) won in Newport in 2008.  Haas is one of a tournament-high eight Germans in the main draw. Andreev is 11-11 on the season with a semi-final in Casablanca in April and a quarter-final in Buenos Aires in February. He is ranked No. 89.

• In the final match on, young German Cedrik-Marcel Stebe and Lukasz Kubot of Poland meet for the first time. The 21-year-old Stebe is 5-12 on the season and ranked No 82. Kubot looks to even his match record (16-17) on the season and the top Pole has advanced to the quarter-finals in Memphis and Bucharest. Last year Kubot reached the semi-finals here in Stuttgart (l. to Andujar).

• On Grandstand, 2009 champion Jeremy Chardy faces German qualifier Julian Reister. In addition, Lukas Rosol, who posted the biggest win of his career at Wimbledon, defeating World No. 2 Rafael Nadal in the second round in five sets, takes on No. 5 seed Robin Haase of the Netherlands.

NEWPORT TUESDAY PREVIEW – TOP THREE SEEDS ISNER, NISHIKORI, RAONIC HEADLINE DAY TWO ACTION
• The remaining 10 first round matches at the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championships on Tuesday include the top three seeds and former World No. 1 on Center Court. All four matches are first-time meetings.

• In the first match on, Dutchman Igor Sijsling takes on No. 2 seed Kei Nishikori of Japan, the top Asian player on the ATP World Tour. Both players are making their Newport debut. The 24-year-old Sijsling is ranked No. 110 and his best result this season is the quarter-finals on home soil in ‘s-Hertogenbosch last month (l. to eventual champ Ferrer). The 22-year-old Nishikori enters with a 17-10 match record on the season and he’s advanced to the quarter-finals at the Australian Open, his best Grand Slam result, Buenos Aires and Barcelona (the later two on clay). He is coming off a personal-best third round showing at Wimbledon (l. to del Potro). Nishikori, who is ranked No. 18, reached a career-high No. 16 on March 19.

• In the second match, No. 3 seed Milos Raonic meets Aussie Matthew Ebden, who was doubles champion here last year (w/Harrison). The No. 23-ranked Raonic is making his main draw debut and two years ago he came into Newport ranked No. 278 and lost in the second round of qualifying. The 21-year-old Canadian is a two-time winner on the ATP World Tour this season and he owns a 27-10 match record. He also leads the ATP World Tour with 578 aces. Ebden is 9-13 on the year and ranked No .80.

• In the third match, top seed and reigning champion John Isner meets Ukrainian qualifier Sergei Bubka, who is ranked No. 151. The No. 11-ranked Isner has spent 11 weeks in the Top 10 since first breaking into the elite club on March 19 after reaching his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 final in Indian Wells (l. to Federer). Isner jumped off to a 20-7 start in the first four months but since May has went 3-5, failing to win back-to-back matches. He is coming off a second round loss at Roland Garros (l. to Mathieu 18-16 in fifth set) and opening round exit at Wimbledon (l. to Falla 7-5 in fifth set). Bubka is ranked No. 151, just six spots off his career-high set last November. Two years ago he won his first career ATP World Tour match here and was ranked No. 335. He is the son of world pole vault record holder and 1988 Olympics gold medalist Sergey Bubka, who is the only person to clear 20 feet.

• In the final match, Canadian No. 2 Vasek Pospisil looks for his first ATP World Tour match win of the season (0-9) as he faces wild card and former World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt. Although Pospisil is winless on the ATP World Tour, he is 12-7 with one title on the Challenger circuit. He is ranked No. 105 and he reached a career-high No. 95 on April 9. The 31-year-old Hewitt is making his first appearance in Newport since 1998 when he came in as a 17-year-old ranked No. 162. Hewitt is 4-5 on the season and he missed three and a-half months after undergoing toe surgery in February. He is trying to break a three-match losing streak.

• There is plenty of action on outside courts with three seeds highlighting the schedule: No. 4 Denis Istomin and No. 5 Alex Bogomolov Jr. on Court 1, and No. 8 Gilles Muller on Court 2. Bogomolov Jr. takes on ’09 runner-up Sam Querrey in the opening match on Court 1.

BASTAD TUESDAY PREVIEW – SEEDS KUKUSHKIN, VOLANDRI, WILD CARD RYDERSTEDT IN ACTION
• There are seven first round matches on Tuesday’s schedule at the SkiStar Swedish Open with a pair of seeds and Swedish wild card in action.

• In the first match on Centre Court, an all-South American match features Horacio Zeballos of Argentina against Joao Souza of Brazil in a first-time meeting although Zeballos has won three of the previous four Challenger meetings. Both players are ranked outside the Top 100 with Zeballos at No. 101 and Souza at No. 124. Souza has reached the quarter-finals at two ATP World Tour clay court tournaments: Vina del Mar and Belgrade.

• In the next match on, No. 7 seed Filippo Volandri, who reached the semi-finals here in 2007, squares off with Swedish wild card Michael Ryderstedt, who reached the quarter-finals last year (l. to Almagro), is looking for his first ATP World Tour match win of the season (0-2). Countryman Christian Lindell lost in the first round on Monday, the other Swede in the draw. In February, Volandri reached his ninth career ATP World Tour final (2-7) in Sao Paulo (l. to Almagro). The 30-year-old Italian is ranked No. 79 with a 7-15 match record.

• In the final match on, No. 5 Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan and Daniel Gimeno-Traver of Spain meet for the second time this season. In April, Kukushkin won 6-2, 6-3, in the first round of Barcelona. Kukushkin comes in with a 9-11 match record on the season and career-high No. 49 ranking (first established on June 11). • First round action at the ATP Vegeta Croatia Open Umag continues on Tuesday with nine matches on the schedule, three involving seeds.

• In the first match on Centre Court, top Slovenian Blaz Kavcic and Antonio Veic of Croatia meet for the fourth time this year, the second in an ATP World Tour tournament. In May in Belgrade, Veic won 6-1, 6-1, in the first round.  They also split two Challenger meetings on clay.  Both players have compiled their best results on the Challenger circuit this season with Kavcic has a 21-5 match record with two titles while Veic is 19-8 with one title.

• In the second match on, No. 5 seed Carlos Berlocq of Argentina looks for his 20th match win of the season as he takes on Ivan Dodig of Croatia. This is their first ATP World Tour meeting although Berlocq won a Challenger match two years ago in Italy. Berlocq comes in with a 19-17 match record on the season, highlighted by his first career ATP World Tour final in Vina del Mar in February and three other quarter-finals. Dodig is 12-19 with a pair of quarter-finals: in Zagreb in February and Queen’s Club in London last month. He is ranked No. 97.

• On Grandstand, there are three matches, with No. 6 seed and 2010 champion Juan Carlos Ferrero taking on Croat wild card Mate Pavic for the first time.
