Lindstedt/Tecau Begin Bastad Title Defence

Two-time defending champions Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau opened with a 6-4, 6-4 win over the Finnish duo of Harri Heliovaara and Jarkko Nieminen on Wednesday at the SkiStar Swedish Open, improving to a perfect 8-0 record in Bastad.
The Swedish-Romanian duo has won 10 of its last 11 matches, highlighted by the UNICEF Open title and a third straight runner-up finish at Wimbledon.
Second seeds Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares raced past Sweden wild card Patrik Rosenholm and Michael Ryderstedt 6-0, 6-2 in 51 minutes. They won 22 of their 27 first service points.
Colin Ebelthite and Jamie Murray required just 50 minutes to beat Frederico Gil and Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-2, 6-1. The victors converted five of their nine break point opportunities and lost 12 points on their serves.
At the MercedesCup in Stuttgart, fourth seeds Michal Mertinak and Andre Sa came back to defeat Frantisek Cermak and Lukas Rosol 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 in one hour and 14 minutes.
Jeremy Chardy and Lukasz Kubot defeated Robin Haase and Alexander Waske 1-6, 6-3, 10-7. They won 13 points in the first set, but recovered for victory in 69 minutes.
In Umag, second-seeded Italians Daniele Bracciali and Fabio Fognini booked their place in the ATP Vegeta Croatia Open Umag semi-finals with a 6-4, 7-6(4) win over Blaz Kavcic and Jaroslav Pospisil.
The second seeds at the Campbell's Hall Of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport, Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins, also won their opening match, defeating Vasek Pospisil and Sam Querrey 7-6(4), 7-5.
