Teenage wild card Mate Pavic stunned 2010 champion Juan Carlos Ferrero Tuesday at the ATP Vegeta Croatia Open Umag, knocking out the sixth seed 6-2, 6-2.

Pavic broke the Spaniard four times, winning 52 per cent of his return points to clinch the upset in just over one hour.

Argentine qualifier Marco Trungelliti registered his first tour-level win when he beat Paolo Lorenzi 7-5, 6-4, while Germany’s Daniel Brands advanced past qualifier Walter Trusendi 6-1, 7-6(6).
