German Philipp Kohlschreiber will break into the Top 20 for the first time Monday after reaching the final in Kitzbuhel. The recent Wimbledon quarter-finalist defeated Italian Filippo Volandri after rallying from one set down at the bet-at-home Cup Kitzbuhel to reach his second ATP World Tour 250 final of the season.
Kohlschreiber, who won the Munich title in May, squandered a break in the first set and ultimately had to rally over three sets to beat Volandri 6-7(6), 6-2, 6-2.
In the final Kohlschreiber will meet third seed and defending champion Robin Haase, who won his first meeting with fifth seed Martin Klizan 6-3, 6-3. Appearing in his first semi-final since Winston-Salem 11 months ago, Haase improved his perfect record in Kitzbuhel to 8-0. At No. 42, Haase is the only Dutchman in the Top 100 of the South African Airways ATP Rankings.

Kohlschreiber, who on Thursday played two singles matches and a doubles, said: "I spent a lot of time on court during the last two days. Now I’m glad to be in the final.
"I knew that at some point this year I could reach the Top 20. It’s great that it will happen now. Tomorrow I play for the trophy. I know that both Haase and Klizan are in a great form and like playing in the altitude."
Following the final Kohlschreiber will rush to London to compete in the Olympic tennis event. "Tomorrow I will try to catch the latest flight to England so I can at least sleep there."
