Former Champion Troicki, Istomin Beaten In Moscow Second Round

Tunisian Malek Jaziri, currently No. 112 in the South African Airways ATP Rankings, kept his nerve to beat third seed and 2010 champion Viktor Troicki 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 in one hour and 41 minutes on Wednesday for a place in the Kremlin Cup quarter-finals.
Czech Lukas Rosol will attempt to reach his first tour-level semi-final on Friday after he beat sixth-seeded Uzbekistani Denis Istomin 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in two hours. He improved to a 19-17 match record on the season.
Eighth-seeded Japanese Tatsuma Ito withstood 18 aces from Russian qualifier Konstantin Kravchuk to win 7-6(7), 2-6, 6-3 in just over two hours. Ito, who is now 10-15 on the year, also reached the UNICEF Open last eight (l. to Paire) in June.
In first-round action, Croatian Ivo Karlovic hit 20 aces past Simone Bolelli of Italy 6-4, 7-6(4) in one hour and 37 minutes. Karlovic has hit 448 aces in 30 tour-level matches this year. Poland's Jerzy Janowicz converted four of his seven break points to defeat Benjamin Becker of Germany 7-6(6), 6-3 in one hour and 34 minutes.
Russian wild card Teymuraz Gabashvili dropped to 5-9 at the ATP World Tour 250 tournament, when he failed to reach the second round for the sixth time, after losing to Flavio Cipolla of Italy 6-4, 6-4 in 86 minutes.
French qualifier Edouard Roger-Vasselin will attempt to reach his third ATP World Tour quarter-final of the season on Thursday after he beat Russian wild card Evgeny Donskoy 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in two hours and 14 minutes. Donskoy dropped to 0-4 in tour-level matches in 2012.
