VIENNA TOURNAMENT/MONDAY PREVIEW –TOP TWO SEEDS DEL POTRO, TIPSAREVIC LEAD STRONG FIELD
• This year’s Erste Bank Open is led by Top 10 stars Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina and Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia, both trying to secure one of three spots remaining in the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London, Nov, 5-12. The 24-year-old del Potro reached last year’s final in his debut (l. to Tsonga) and he is 7th in the Race standings.Tipsarevic, who is 9th in the Race, is making his third appearance in Vienna and his best showing was the semi-finals in 2009.
• The other seeds are: No. 3 Tommy Haas, who at 34 is the oldest player in the field. Haas won the title here in 2001 and was runner-up the previous year. He has a career mark of 19-8 in Vienna: No. 4 is top Austrian and 2009-10 champion Jurgen Melzer, who is playing in his hometown tournament for the 13th time in the past 14 years (except 2000).The last four seeds are: No. 5 Fabio Fognini of Italy, No. 6 Robin Haase of the Netherlands, No. 7 Benoit Paire of France and No. 8 Xavier Malisse of Belgium.
• In Monday’s action, there are four qualifying matches and two main draw singles matches. He has a 22-16 match record. In July, Muller reached his third career ATP World Tour final in Atlanta (l. to Roddick in three sets). He is looking to even his match record (18-19) on the season. He also advanced to the quarter-finals in Belgrade in May and ‘s-Hertogenbosch in June. In the next match on, No. 2 Aussie Marinko Matosevic looks to even his head-to-head mark (0-1) against Top Dutchman No. 6 Haase, who won the previous meeting in March in the first round of Miami. Matosevic is ranked a career-high No. 55 this week. He reached his first ATP World Tour final in Delray Beach in March (l. to Anderson).

STOCKHOLM TOURNAMENT/MONDAY PREVIEW – THREE LONDON HOPEFULS, FORMER NO. 1 HEWITT IN FIELD
• This year’s If Stockholm Open is led by three players in the Top 10 Race to the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London. In addition, the defending champion and a two-time World No. 1 is in the field.
• Leading the way is top seed and World No. 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France followed by No. 2 seed Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic. Berdych is 6th and Tsonga is 8th in the Race standings. Both players are trying to make a return trip to the eight-player season finale. The No. 3 seed is Nicolas Almagro of Spain, a wild card entry. Almagro is 10th in the Race. Rounding out the seeds are: No. 4 Florian Mayer of Germany, a finalist here two years ago, No. 5 Feliciano Lopez of Spain, No. 6 Mikhail Youzhny of Russia, No. 7 Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus, the 2009 winner, and No. 8 Jarkko Nieminen of Finland, a three-time finalist in Stockhom (2001, ’06, ’11)
• Other headliners in the field include reigning champion Frenchman Gael Monfils, who was the top seed last year and comes in unseeded. Monfils has been bothered by an on-and-off knee injury since Roland Garros. Aussie veteran Lleyton Hewitt, who was year-end No. 1 in 2001-02, is a wild card entry and he’s making his first appearance in Stockholm in 10 years when he was ranked No. 1.
• On Monday’s schedule, there are four final round qualifying matches and two main draw matches. Leading off is No. 6 seed Youzhny, the top Russian on the ATP World Tour, against 27-year-old American Brian Baker. Both players are making their Stockholm debut. Youzhny captured his eighth career ATP World Tour title in February in Zagreb (d. Lacko). He is making his first Stockholm visit in 12 years when he lost to then No. 29-ranked Roger Federer. Baker is a candidate for ATP Comeback Player of the Year after missing nearly six years of action after undergoing five surgeries. He returned in July 2011, began this year ranked No. 456 and makes his debut here a career-high No. 56. In the second match, No. 8 seed Nieminen comes in with a career mark of 22-12 in Stockholm, having reached the final in 2001 (l. to Schalken), 2006 (l. to Blake) and last year (l. to Monfils). The 31-year-old Finn takes a 2-0 mark against German Tobias Kamke with both wins coming in Stockholm (in 2007 and last year). Kamke, a quarter-finalist in Stockholm last year, was ATP Newcomer of the Year in 2010.

MOSCOW TOURNAMENT/MONDAY PREVIEW – DOLGOPOLOV, SEPPI, TROICKI LEAD Kremlin Cup FIELD
• The 23rd edition of the Kremlin Cup is led by top Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, No. 1 Italian Andreas Seppi and 2010 winner Viktor Troicki of Serbia. They are the top three seeds in this year’s 28-player field. Troicki also reached the final last year.
• Rounding out the seeds are No. 4 Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil, who is making his Kremlin Cup debut, No. 5 and three-time Kremlin Cup champ Nikolay Davydenko, No. 6 Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan, No. 7 Carlos Berlocq of Argentina and No. 8 Tatsuma Ito of Japan. Overall there are five Russians in the draw, all in the top half. The country's first pro international tennis tournament has been dominated by Russian players with 14 winners of the past 22 titles, including six of the past eight. Yevgeny Kafelnikov won a record five consecutive titles between 1997-2001 followed by Davydenko with three titles.
• On Monday’s schedule, there are four qualifying and four main draw matches. The first men’s match on Centre Court is a first-time meeting between No. 6 Istomin against German Bjorn Phau, who turned 33 years old on Oct. 4. In February, Istomin reached his second career ATP World Tour final in San Jose (l. to Raonic) and he advanced to a Grand Slam-best 4th Round at Wimbledon (l. to Youzhny 7-5 in fifth set). Phau has played on the Challenger circuit and his best ATP World Tour result was the quarter-finals in Stuttgart in July (l. to eventual champion Janko Tipsarevic after holding four match points). Phau comes in ranked No. 83 with a 7-13 match record this season.
• In the evening match, American Rajeev Ram plays Malek Jaziri of Tunisia for the first time. Both players are making their main draw debut in Moscow. Jaziri is 3-10 on the ATP World Tour and 22-12 on the Challenger circuit.
