Just two days after lifting his sixth trophy of the season at the year-end Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London, Novak Djokovic and his coach Marian Vajda were in Vajda’s home town of Bratislava for an exhibition event that benefitted the Novak Djokovic Foundation and the Stars for Stars Foundation.
Playing in front of 5,000 fans at the Slovak National Tennis Centre, Djokovic and Vajda took part in the Tennis Classic, which also featured ATP World Tour Newcomer of the Year Martin Klizan and retired Slovakian player Dominik Hrbaty. Djokovic and Klizan played a singles match before Djokovic paired with Vajda against the Slovaks in a fun-fuelled doubles clash. The four tennis players also held a clinic for young Slovakian players.
The event raised €25,800 each for the Novak Djokovic Foundation and the Stars for Stars Foundation, which supports young Slovak athletes. Djokovic also auctioned his tennis gear and racquet to support both charities.
