Defending champions Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan marched into the semi-finals of the Apia International Sydney, taking out French pair Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra 6-3, 6-2 in 52 minutes.
The top-seeded American twins saved all six break points and won 73 per cent of first serve points.
The Bryans will next meet third seeds Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez, who squeezed past Jeremy Chardy and Lukasz Kubot, winning 3-6, 6-4, 13-11.
In the bottom half of the draw, Spanish duo David Marrero and Fernando Verdasco advanced after second seeds Radek Stepanek and Leander Paes handed them a walkover. Stepanek had earlier retired in the opening game of his second-round singles match with a back injury.
Second seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Daniel Nestor survived a close encounter with Australian wildcards Matthew Ebden and Marinko Matosevic, winning 3-6, 7-6(2), 10-8. The Indian/Canadian team were unable to convert any of four break point chances but won more points on return games than their opponents.
In Auckland, Benjamin Becker and Jurgen Melzer narrowly defeated Eric Butorac and Paul Hanley, clinching a 7-6(5), 7-6(6) victory in one hour and 25 minutes.
Third seeds Julian Knowle and Filip Polasek cruised through their quarter-final match against Victor Hanescu and Martin Klizan 6-2, 7-5 without facing a break point.
