He once left Grandstand court at the US Open looking like a crime scene with bottles and equipment strewn everywhere, but now Justin Gimelstob is a prime suspect on the popular CBS TV drama, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

When a rising tennis star is killed on court, the CSIs arrive to investigate the murder. Gimelstob is among the suspects after discovering and reporting the dead body. Who says tennis isn’t a blood sport, questions D.B. Russell (played by Ted Danson).

“Getting a chance to spend time with one of my favourite actors, Ted Danson, and Elisabeth Shue who is an avid tennis player, not to mention all the incredible people I was able to meet was an incredible experience,” said Gimelstob. “It will be fun seeing tennis on a primetime show!”

Along with Gimelstob, former WTA World No. 1s Chris Evert and Lindsay Davenport and model Catrinel Menghia Marlon as Italian bombshell Elisabetta, guest star in the tennis-themed episode titled “Double Fault”.  It airs on Wednesday, 23 January at 10 p.m. ET/PT

Fans outside the USA will be able to watch the episode online shortly after it airs. Check back here for details.
